Ally and I stopped on the old bridge that crosses Choctawhatchee Bay between Santa Rosa Beach and Freeport. The Intercoastal waterway has a lot of barge traffic and we watched one go under the new bridge. Not as interesting as when the old lift bridge was there when we went to school.
Yes the school bus would stop at the bridge keepers house out at the lift! Picking up the 2 kids. I bet that was quite a place during a storm! The many times we rode the school bus across that draw bridge to school.
